(NYSE:VCD - news) today announced that total sales for the four weeks ended March 3, 2001, increased 22.9% to $139.9 million from $113.9 million for the four weeks ending March 4, 2000. The company's same store sales decreased 6.5% for the four week period ended March 3, 2001. Total 2001 sales include Filene's Basement Stores acquired effective March 17, 2000.
