COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/-- (NYSE: VCD - news) today announced that total sales for the four weeks ended November 25, 2000 increased 10.1% to $188.6 million from $171.3 million reported in the comparable year earlier period. Same store sales decreased 5.4%.

Sales for the 43 weeks ended November 25, 2000 increased 18.6% to $1,572.0 million from $1,325.5 million in the comparable year-earlier period. Same store sales increased 0.6%.

The above figures exclude sales of the Filene's Basement Stores acquired effective March 17, 2000. Sales for these stores, excluding licensed departments, totaled $28.5 million for the four weeks ended November 25, 2000 and $180.3 million for the period March 17, 2000 through November 25, 2000.
